CHRISTMAS DAY

Dress by H&M, Boots are Urban Outfitters
This year was a magical Christmas at home in Devon, with snow on the ground and waking up to fog moving across the estuary. Being away from your family most of the year makes you cherish these holidays even more. Thank you to my brother, Harry, for taking the pictures of me. This dress was meant to move.
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!

CAMP BESTIVAL 2010

Last Friday Lex and I were sat at home insanely bored when we got a magic call saying we were being sent to Camp Bestival by Glaceau Vitamin Water!!
How exciting is doing random spur of the moment things?

The atmosphere of the whole festival was so nice, it being a family affair there was none of this teen messiness, (sorry teens), and the toilets and showers were a dream, apart from being woken up in the morning by a chorus of babies I have nothing else to complain about.

The highlight of the weekend had to be seeing Madness and The Human League. They were better than I could have imagined, there was so much energy with Madness, the crowd were going crazy! We also randomly stumbled into a dancing competition in the Black Dahlia tent where we were awarded joint 2nd prize by ANNIE MAC for the Lindi Hop!
After quite the heavy Saturday night, we spent Sunday morning doing Yogo and Thai Chi and chilling in the literary tent (only Camp Bestival would have a literary tent – complete with armchairs!) and heard talks from Charlie Higson, writer of the The Fast Show and the Young Bond series, and music producer William Orbit who has worked with Madonna and U2.
The final blow out night was incredible, seeing bands Friendly Fires and The Human League.
The Human League were style ICONS! Completely obsessed with lead singer, Philip Oakley, who I swear must have been wearing Yohji Yamamoto to start and then changed into incredible olive jumpsuit. Susan Ann Sulley was a complete fox as well, LOVED her.
After that we watched fireworks exploding over Lulworth Castle and ate a much anticipated Byron Burger, it was amazing!

Thankyou so much Glaceau Vitamin Water for sending us to Camp Bestival!

Also I have to say all these photos were taken by Alexxsia, I had a disposable camera and will be getting the snaps processed soooooon.

GRADUATE FASHION WEEK

I am so excited to reveal that my work has been chosen to show at Graduate Fashion Week this year!
16 students were selected out of a total of 63 to showcase their catwalk creations at GFW. I sincerely think that this year UWE will be up to the standards of rivals Ravensbourne, Northumbria and Manchester. (Not really our rivals but I think they are good!)
UWE will be showing at 7pm, Sunday 6th June at Earls Court.
I have received my Girlalamode press pass and will be attending as many shows as I can fit in. That’s right, I will be on both sides of the fence. It’s going to be a crazy few days, I’m not even sure what Sunday has in store and how busy I will be. All I know is I am sat listening to the show mix for Sunday and it is SO GOOD! I am mega excited.
Email me if you are not sure how to get hold of tickets, press etc, or if you want to meet up at the event!

Carly Ellis, University of Westminster; Rebecca Thomson, Manchester Metropolitan University; Kitty Keay, Colchester School of Art; Phoebe Thirlwall, Nottingham Trent University; Garry Butterfield, University of Northampton

Sera Ulger, Ravensbourne College; Gina Webster, Birmingham City University; Anna Lee, De Montfort University; Beth Spurr & Lucy Hammond, Kingston University; Lisa Marie Jones, University of Wales

These Graduate Fashion Week campaign images were shot by Rankin using looks chosen by Dazed and Confused fashion editor Katie Shillingford.
Rankin said about the shoot: ‘I really enjoyed this shoot. There was a stunning array of truly innovative and often outrageous design, and stylist Katie Shillingford did a great job of choosing the top 10 looks. It was incredibly easy to shoot the clothes – each piece was so beautiful and full of character. I’m sure among the 2010 graduates we will see a designer that will catch the fashion world’s imagination!’

See you all at GFW!
